I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate. It is an honor and privilege to walk alongside others. Through my counseling, I purpose to empower individuals to choose the path that leads to healing, wholeness, hope and renewal.
I believe growth and healing are established in an atmosphere of acceptance, validation, mutual respect and psychological safety.
Healing and wholeness is a journey requiring courage, intentionality and a willingness to embrace change.
Connection and compassion are vital in a counseling experience. When we treat ourselves with kindness & understanding, we will be able to connect with others in a similar way.
We will look at your life holistically: emotional, spiritual, physical, mental, and relational.
Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help you recover motivation, perspective, and joy that you once had in your life.
Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Spiritual direction encourages you to explore a closer relationship with God. In the midst of a busy life, many people find it difficult to notice God’s action in their daily life. Yet, at the deepest level, all of us long for a more conscious experience of God’s presence and love.
As your Spiritual Director, I partner with you to understand your daily experience of God.
Jan holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University (CACREP-accredited). Jan has received further training and certification as a spiritual director through the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation, The Allender Center at the Seattle School, and the Enneagram Institute. These certifications, and the body of knowledge associated with each, inform her perspective and practice.
In addition to my mental health and wellness degree-based education, I have received extensive training in mindfulness, relational and spiritual integration practices including:
